Jonathon “Jono” Shannon is an award-winning advertising creative, Tropfest-winning screenwriter, and author. He only pretends to be a photographer.
In his commercial work, Jono solves business problems by ignoring convention and pursuing emerging technologies…believing that ‘you can't solve a problem with the same thinking that created it’.
With that in mind, he’s translated brain waves into ocean waves, created a personal unit of velocity, changed a nation's payment behaviour, and distilled memory into fragrance. His work has been recognised at Cannes Lions, One Show, and the Effies.
Jono is represented by Lyn Tranter at Australian Literary Management. His debut novel SNOWFALLS OVER KYOTO is a story of love, loss, and the distinct seasons of our lives, set in Japan and Iceland.
He also wrote THE LAST FIGHT, a micro-documentary focusing on mental illness, martial arts and modern masculinity. Directed by Edward Copestick & Janyon Bolshoff, it was awarded Best Documentary Screenplay at Tropfest.
Jono is taking select freelance work. Just say hello.
